Koh Mook is primarily famous for its Emerald Cave located towards its western coastline. You can enter the Emerald Cave through a narrow dark tunnel by either swimming through the water or kayaking. After that, you will be guided by a rope and accompanied by a tour guide. As you walk your way a little further, you will find a small beautiful glade with high cliffs, turquoise water, and white sandy stretch. The cave is named Emerald for the color of its water as it appears when the sunshine filters through. Spend some restful hours doing some swimming in the gaiety waters of the Cave. You can visit the cave only during a low tide and the best time to visit the cave is during the early morning.

Other beautiful attractions of Koh Mook include the pristine spectacular beaches of Hua Laem, Phangka Bay, and Haad Farang. You can also capture some fun activities in Koh Mook. Snorkeling tours are provided to the islands of Koh Ngai and Koh Kradan. You can do some snorkeling here to capture awe-inspiring marine creatures in their natural habitat. A guided jungle tour is also provided to make you familiar with the local flora and fauna.

Most of the local community inhabiting the island are friendly farmers and fishermen. You may not find much accommodation facilities on the island. However, you may find some budget-friendly hotels from an elementary fan-equipped bamboo chalet to a congenial air-conditioned bungalow. Spend some leisurely hours at the restaurants and beach-bars, or visit the shops to take back some souvenirs. You can also rent bicycles or motorbikes from here. Koh Mook is a perfect getaway to spend some peaceful time amidst the lap of nature.

Best Time To Visit

Koh Mook is under Mu Koh Lanta National Marine Park. Although Koh Mook is open all through the year, the best time to visit the island is between November and April. You can take a day trip to Koh Mook from Koh Lanta or Krabi. Capture a morning boat to the island from Koh Lanta which is run on a daily basis. Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Krabi which operates once in a day. You can also take a ferry or a high-speed boat to Koh Mook from the Trang. Speedboats generally provide private trips to nearby piers.
